The “Day of the Lord” Shall Beget Alarm, Fear, Calamity, Disaster, and Destruction Like None Ever Before …
The Almighty God to the whole world:
These words, as written, are self-explanatory, to say the least:
“Alas for the day!
For the day of the LORD is at hand;
It shall come as destruction from the Almighty.”
Joel 1:15
As also written, the Lord will declare such, which will then come to pass:
“Blow the trumpet in Zion,
And sound an alarm in My holy mountain!
Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble;
For the day of the Lord is coming,
For it is at hand:
A day of darkness and gloominess,
A day of clouds and thick darkness,
Like the morning clouds spread over the mountains.”
Joel 2:1-2
And indeed, there shall be darkness like none other in the history of the world (soon to come again prophetically), much greater than that which occurred during the Exodus, during ancient times, as also written:
“Then the LORD said to Moses, ‘Stretch out your hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, darkness which may even be felt.’ So Moses stretched out his hand toward heaven, and there was thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days. They did not see one another; nor did anyone rise from his place for three days.”
Exodus 10:21-23
For this also shall occur futuristically, as more so written:
“Then the fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and his kingdom became full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues because of the pain. They blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and did not repent of their deeds.”
Revelation 16:10-11
And indeed, the whole entirety of the world shall experience darkness!
Then this will finally happen, as even more so written:
“It shall come to pass in that day
That there will be no light;
The lights will diminish.
It shall be one day
Which is known to the LORD—
Neither day nor night.
But at evening time it shall happen
That it will be light.”
Zechariah 14:6-7
This is when the Lord will return to the Earth … as the LIGHT of the world. * (1)
