When the “Day of the Lord” Comes, the Pride, Arrogance, and Self-Importance of Man will be Brought Low …
The Lord God says thusly to mankind:
As clearly written:
“For the day of the Lord of hosts
Shall come upon everything proud and lofty,
Upon everything lifted up—
And it shall be brought low—”
Isaiah 2:12
And indeed, this, as further written, is self-explanatory:
“The loftiness of man shall be bowed down,
And the haughtiness of men shall be brought low;
The LORD alone will be exalted in that day,”
Isaiah 2:17
As written, many know that this holds true:
“Pride goes before destruction,
And a haughty spirit before a fall.”
Proverbs 16:18
Nevertheless …
… the day of the Lord will come upon the Earth quickly, speedily, and unannounced … except for the signs in the heavens AND upon and beneath the fullness of the Earth prior to “the Great and Terrible Day of the Lord” … * (1)
… which commences the great time of trouble and Tribulation, like no other upon the face of the whole of the Earth. * (2)
Nevertheless, the Lord declares thusly, as additionally written:
“But God draws the mighty away with His power;
He rises up, but no man is sure of life.
He gives them security, and they rely on it;
Yet His eyes are on their ways.
They are exalted for a little while,
Then they are gone.
They are brought low;
They are taken out of the way like all others;
They dry out like the heads of grain.”
Job 24:22-24
For thus says the Lord God to all mankind:
“You shall be brought down,
You shall speak out of the ground;
Your speech shall be low, out of the dust;
Your voice shall be like a medium’s, out of the ground;
And your speech shall whisper out of the dust.”
Isaiah 29:4
For this, as declared, prophesied, and written speaks for itself:
“Behold, the LORD makes the earth empty and makes it waste,
Distorts its surface
And scatters abroad its inhabitants.
And it shall be:
As with the people, so with the priest;
As with the servant, so with his master;
As with the maid, so with her mistress;
As with the buyer, so with the seller;
As with the lender, so with the borrower;
As with the creditor, so with the debtor.
The land shall be entirely emptied and utterly plundered,
For the LORD has spoken this word.”

Lest your bonds be made strong;
For I have heard from the Lord GOD of hosts,
A destruction determined even upon the whole earth.
